The final day of Bahrain pre-season test-2 is held on Sunday. Lewis Hamilton ended pre-season testing quickest with a final run in the afternoon on Sunday to post a 1:33.278. He lost much of the morning due to a gearbox problem, but made up for the lack of running in the afternoon to post 69 laps in total. His time fell just 0.02 seconds of the very best time in Bahrain posted by Felipe Massa on Saturday. Williams’ strong form continued however with Valtteri Bottas taking second, albeit seven-tenths off Hamilton’s time. The session was extended by 25 minutes thanks  [ Read More ]

The 3rd day of Bahrain pre-season test-2 is held on Saturday. Felipe Massa pushed his Williams to the top of the timing screens in Bahrain, just pipping Nico Rosberg’s best time. He held the top spot for much of the morning, but was surpassed by Rosberg’s Mercedes toward the end of the day, but a final run for Massa put him back on top with a 1:33.258 – the fastest time seen so far and under a second off Rosberg’s 2013 pole position lap time of 1:32.330. Felipe Massa continued Williams’ strong form in fourth, with McLaren’s Jenson Button and Marussia’s Jules Bianchi in  [ Read More ]

The 1st day of Bahrain pre-season test-2 is held on Thursday. Force India’s Sergio Perez topped the timing screens in Bahrain with a 1:35.290. He held the top spot from an early morning run as his rivals focused on reliabilty and long runs in the afternoon. Valtteri Bottas was 2nd quickest with Kimi Raikkonen not far behind, but the times were well down on the posted last week with a focus on race simulations. Bottas lapped the Sakhir circuit 128 times, with only the Mercedes cars coming close to that. Red Bull once again struggled with just 36 laps on  [ Read More ]

The 4th day of Bahrain pre-season test-1 is held on Saturday. Nico Rosberg was easily the quickest man on the final day of the first half of Bahrain test, and whilst times mean very little, his 1:33.283 – under a second off last years pole time – will surely raise some eyebrows. He found a second over Lewis Hamilton’s best time from Friday, to go 1.6 seconds clear of Jenson Button’s McLaren in second. Kimi Raikkonen was a further two seconds back, but managed a race simulation as he circulated the track more than 80 times. Felipe Nasr made his  [ Read More ]
